In a world of talkers, Mack is a thinker and doer. He doesn’t say much unless you ask him directly, which most folks have learned not to do. When he does speak you wonder if he isn’t some sort of alien whonsees the landscape of human ideas and experiences differently than everybody else.
The thing is, he usually makes uncomfortable sense in a world where most folks would rather just hear what they are used to hearing, which is often not much of anything. (…) when he does talk, it isn’t that they stop liking him – rather, they are not quite so satisfied with thenselves.

Em um mundo de faladores, Mack eh um pensador e um feitor. Ele não fala muito a não ser quando falam diretamente com ele. Quando ele fala, você se pergunta se ele não eh algum tipo de alienígena que a paisagem das idéias humanos e, então, experiência-as de ums forma totalmente diferente.
A verdade eh que ele geralmente, e inconfortavelmente, faz total sentido em um mundo onde a maioria das pessoas querem ouvir apenas o que acostumados a ouvir, o que na maioria das vezes não tem sentido nenhum. Aqueles que o conhecem geralmente gostam muito dele, desde que ele guarde suas idéias para ele mesmo. E quando ele fala, não eh que as pessoas parem de gostar dele – ao invés disso, elas ficam não tão felizes consigo mesmas.
